DOCSSTOREFRONTS AND VIEWER SUPPORT

Create and configure a storefront

Updated 31 October 2026

A storefront is the viewer-facing website where people sign in, pay, and watch. You can configure its branding, sign-in providers, payments, theme, hosting, playback limits, and viewer chat.

Before you start

You need access to the storefronts area and the appropriate permissions for the changes you want to make. To open storefronts, go to Content > Storefronts.

Create a storefront

  1. Open Storefronts and select New storefront.
  2. Under Name and address, enter the name viewers will see. Review the slug, which is initially filled from the name, and optionally enter the public website where the storefront runs. Select Continue.
  3. Under Branding, add a language and enter the name and viewer-facing copy for that language. If you do not add a language, viewers see the storefront name. Select Continue.
  4. Choose a logo, review the details, and select Create storefront.

The new storefront’s settings page opens after creation.

Open the storefront settings

From Storefronts, select the pencil-shaped Edit control on a storefront. The settings page includes:

  • An overview of the name, slug, public branding, and website
  • A Live and Sandbox environment switch
  • Refresh and Users controls
  • Sign-in, Payments, Theme, Hosting, Playback limits, and Support tabs

If you do not have update access, the settings page is read-only and the Support tab is hidden.

Configure viewer sign-in

  1. Open the Sign-in tab.
  2. Select Browse, or Add provider if no provider has been configured.
  3. Choose a provider, enter its settings, and select Save.

Available providers include EYZFlow, OpenID Connect, Google, Apple, Facebook, AWS Cognito, and SAML. Select the pencil control beside a provider to edit it.

Accept payments and gift cards

  1. Open the Payments tab.
  2. Under Payment methods, select Browse, choose a provider, enter its credentials, and select Save.
  3. To allow gift-card redemption at checkout, select Browse under Gift cards, choose a provider, and save it.

Stripe and PayPal process payments on the storefront. App Store and Google Play support in-app purchases in your own apps. Use a sandbox for test payments.

Choose a theme

  1. Open the Theme tab.
  2. Select Choose theme (or Change theme), choose a theme, and select Apply theme.
  3. If the theme provides its own options, use Edit settings to adjust them.

Set storefront availability and a custom domain

  1. Open the Hosting tab.
  2. Under Availability, choose one of the following options:
    • Disabled: the storefront is not reachable on the platform host.
    • Preview: the storefront requires a preview access key.
    • Public: the storefront is available on its platform host and verified domains.
  3. Select Save.

For a preview storefront, select Generate key or enter a key of at least eight characters. Copy the key before saving because it cannot be viewed again afterwards.

To add a custom domain:

  1. Under Custom domains, select Add domain and enter the hostname.
  2. Add the displayed DNS TXT record at your DNS provider.
  3. Select Verify domain on the domain’s row.
  4. Use Set as primary, Disable domain, or Remove domain as needed.

Send viewer email from your own domain

Viewer emails use the platform sender until you configure a sending domain.

  1. On the Hosting tab, under Sending domains, select Add domain and enter a domain your organisation controls.
  2. At your DNS provider, add the three displayed CNAME records and one TXT record.
  3. Select Done, then select Check now on the domain’s row after the records are available.
  4. When the domain is verified, set the sender name, the address before the @, and the sending domain, then select Save.

DNS changes can take from a few minutes up to 72 hours. Sending domains are shared by all storefronts in your organisation, and a domain cannot be removed while a storefront uses it. Select Use the platform sender to switch back.

Limit streams and devices

  1. Open Playback limits.
  2. Choose a mode:
    • Off: streams and devices are not counted.
    • Log only: streams and devices are counted, and potential refusals are recorded, but viewers are not refused.
    • Enforce: streams or devices over the plan’s limits are refused.
  3. Select Save. Confirm when enabling Enforce.

Limits come from each plan’s Max concurrent streams and Max devices settings. The page also shows recent stream and device-limit activity. Viewers can see and remove their devices, or sign out everywhere, in your apps.

Enable viewer chat

The Support tab guides you through setup and shows a check mark for completed steps. Use Preview to see the chat as visitors see it.

  1. Select Turn on.
  2. Choose the websites where chat may open and, optionally, lock it to specific pages.
  3. Choose what the assistant can use, such as your published knowledge-base pages, available organisation knowledge bases, and price calculators.
  4. Optionally configure visitor-selected Topics.
  5. Optionally enable viewer requests and configure the request form.
  6. Configure the chat window, opening hours, and assistant behaviour, including its name and whether it can involve a person or leave questions for your team.
  7. Use the provided code to add chat to another website. If required, copy the signed-in-viewer secret while it is shown; it is shown once.
  8. Select Save changes.

Your team answers chats in Support. Turning chat off asks for confirmation, and existing cases remain available.

Test checkout in a sandbox

A sandbox is a linked storefront for testing real checkout flows with test credentials. It uses the live storefront’s offers, feeds, plans, and pages, but keeps separate users, purchases, entitlements, and payment credentials.

  1. Switch to Sandbox at the top of the storefront settings page.
  2. Select Create sandbox.
  3. Add test credentials under Payments. Stripe keys must begin with sk_test_ or pk_test_.
  4. Sync plans and register your payment providers’ webhooks for the sandbox.
  5. Switch back to Live when finished.

Manage storefront users

  1. Open Users from the storefront settings page, or use the users control on the storefront row.
  2. Search by email or username. Use Group by email to group accounts that share an email address.
  3. To add a user, select Add user, enter the user ID, optionally add profile details, and select Add.
  4. Use the controls on a user’s row to edit or remove them.

Review a viewer’s access and activity

Open a user from the storefront users list. Their page includes:

  • Entitlements: what they can watch. Use Add entitlement to grant access to a product and plan, optionally with an expiry date.
  • Purchases: use Refund purchase to refund through the payment provider and optionally revoke the linked entitlement.
  • Watch List and Watch History
  • Devices: current devices and open streams. Remove device stops that device’s streams, while Sign out everywhere stops all streams and removes every device.

Devices appear after a viewer plays something while playback limits are enabled.
