DOCSUSING IO
Using IO, the EYZFlow assistant
Updated 31 October 2026
IO is EYZFlow’s assistant. You can ask how EYZFlow works, ask about the page you are viewing, or describe a task in your own words. Depending on your permissions, IO can also build and change workflows and run steps for you.
You need the Use the Assistant permission to use IO. IO acts with your permissions, so it can only read, change, or start things your role allows. Automatic workflow runs started by an event or schedule use the permissions of the person who set up the trigger.
Open IO
You can open IO in any of these ways:
- On the Dashboard, type in What should IO work on? and press Enter or select Send to IO.
- On another page, select Ask IO in the header.
- On a wider screen, open the right-edge dock and select Open IO or New chat.
Press Enter to send a message and Shift+Enter to add a new line. If you receive a notification about a reply, opening it takes you to that chat.
Start a chat from the Dashboard
- Open the Dashboard.
- In the What should IO work on? box, select the New chat tab.
- Describe a task, ask a question, or explain something you want to fix.
- To continue your latest chat, open Where to send it and choose Continue with that chat’s name. Choose New chat to start a separate conversation.
- Choose a chat view with the view icons, then select Send to IO.
The Running tab lists what IO is doing and anything waiting for you. These items also appear in the Working now widget on the home page.
Choose a chat view
IO offers three views:
- Floating: a card beside the right-edge dock. On phones, the chat fills the screen.
- Sidebar: a column docked on the right of the page beside your work.
- Full page: the chat occupies the home page. It includes Back to the home page, Chats, and New chat. On wide screens, What this chat used lists attached items and sources cited by IO.
To change views, select Floating, Sidebar, or Full page in the Dashboard composer or in the open chat header. EYZFlow remembers your choice in the current browser. When you follow a link from a full-page chat, the destination page opens with the chat floating beside it. On a workflow board, the chat appears on the board.
Find an earlier chat or start a new one
- In IO, select Chats. In the floating or sidebar view, this is the search icon; in the full-page view, it is Chats.
- Search your chats, or switch between Recent and Archived.
- Select a chat to open it. Its menu includes Rename and Archive. Archived chats also have Restore.
- For a workflow-related chat, select Open workflow when available.
- Select New chat, or use the + in the chat header, to begin a new conversation.
Your chat list contains your own chats. People with the Administer workflows permission can switch to Everyone’s conversations to view all chats in the organisation.
Attach a stream or file
- In an IO chat, select Add media in the message box.
- Search for streams and Bridge videos, then select the items to attach. You can search your 50 newest streams, Bridge video files whose inspection has finished, and analysed Vault videos, subject to the relevant access permissions.
- Review the selected items above your message. Select × to remove an item. Attachments are sent with your next message.
Ask IO about a video
IO can answer questions about what is said, shown, and when it occurs in a video analysed by Video Intelligence.
- On a stream page, Video Intelligence player, or video editor, select Ask IO about this video or Ask IO once analysis is ready.
- The chat opens with In context: and the video name above the message box. Ask your question.
- Select the × beside the context line to stop asking about that video.
This feature requires the Use the Assistant and Ask Video Intelligence permissions, as well as the Video Intelligence module in your plan. If IO cannot inspect the video, it explains whether access, plan coverage, analysis status, or an analysis failure is the cause.
Use chat shortcuts
Type / in the IO chat box to see these shortcuts:
/subtitles/transcription/video-intelligence/summarize
Selecting a shortcut only fills the message box with a request. You can edit it before sending; nothing runs until you send the message. These shortcuts are available in an IO chat, not in the Dashboard’s What should IO work on? box.
An empty chat can also show example questions under Try one of these prompts to get started.
Review IO’s answers
- Select a link in an answer to open the relevant page while keeping IO open beside it.
- Some links point to a specific control. An arrow and temporary ring identify it, but IO does not click it for you. Select Show me where to point to it again.
- Open Sources below an answer to see what IO used.
- Use Copy answer to copy the response or Regenerate to create another version.
- If an answer is cut off, select Continue.
- Answers about videos can include moments from the video. Select a moment to play it.
Manage work while IO is responding
- Select Stop to end the answer IO is writing.
- You can continue typing while IO works. Press Enter to queue a message, or select Cancel queued message to remove it.
- IO may ask you a question. Select one of its suggested answers or type your own.
- The Dashboard’s Running tab, Working now widget, and the dock show activity in your recent chats.
Some actions always wait for your approval: starting Video Intelligence, starting a transcription, retrying Video Intelligence enrichment, and generating artwork. IO shows an estimated cost with Approve and Reject. The approval card expires after 30 minutes. If you do not have enough credits, IO tells you instead of requesting approval. Approving these actions requires the Create Video Intelligence permission.
Workflow changes are presented as proposals. You can accept or discard a proposal when you have the Manage workflows permission and the permissions required by each step. If your role cannot use a step, the proposal remains available for someone whose role can use it.
Saved workflow steps follow their configured approval settings. Destructive steps and steps that provide access outside EYZFlow always ask for approval. Other steps may be configured to run without asking, including paid steps; IO warns when a credit-consuming step would run without approval.
Answer IO from the dock
On wider screens, the right-edge dock folds into a notch. Its colours indicate activity: amber means IO is waiting for you, violet means IO is working, red means new notifications, and blue means workflows are waiting for you.
- Select the notch to open the dock. It opens on IO’s first question when one is available; otherwise, it opens on new notifications.
- In Waiting for you, answer the question by selecting an option, pressing its number key, or typing in Reply to IO…. For an action that requires approval, select Approve or Reject.
- For questions that need more space, select Answer in the chat. For a proposed workflow change, select Review in the chat.
- Select × to close a card, or choose More → Fold away to collapse the dock.
